Description

This is my preferred yarn for making wool i-cord for potholder weaving and frame loom weaving. It works up beautifully on the Caydo Electric i-cord knitting machine into a soft, luxurious i-cord. It weaves up into a lacier square on the Zoom Loom ... and, of course, it is also suitable for knitting socks and such if you are so inclined :)

Each small-batch colorway is unique, dyed by me. Photos show the original number of skeins available. Once a colorway is sold, I may have similar colors available in the future but usually don't  try to replicate the same colorway ... making your project is truly one-of-a-kind.

I-cord Tips for Potholder Weaving

  • One skein of this yarn makes approximately 28 yards of i-cord on the Caydo Electric i-cord knitting machine (about 50 minutes on medium speed), which is enough for about three pro size potholder warps (if combining with loops for weft).
  • Small adjustments to warping tension can produce either a warp with color pooling, or a random color distribution.
  • One way of dealing with ends on a potholder loom is to form small loops on each end of the i-cord
    1. Close up the end of the cord by sewing through the 4 open loops.
    2. Bend the cord over to form a loop
    3. Sew through the cord a few times to secure.
    4. Thread the yarn tail through the cord and trim off.
