My grandchild, at 6 months old, just loves to play with a potholder! She inspired this project that combines a few potholders with basic shapes into a little soft book.

I've included a collection of 6 simple double weave shape patterns for 7" potholder loom. They aren't exactly the same on the back of the page, but most are very close (and, let's face it, the baby won't care just yet ;D ). The instructions will guide you step-by-step through binding potholder pages into a soft book / baby toy.

  • This 15 page full-color booklet is available as a Digital Download in PDF format.
  • The shape patterns without the binding instructions are also available separately.

Booklet includes

  • Pattern basics, warping, weaving, and Double Edge Bind Off
  • How to bind pages into a soft book  / baby toy with no additional tools or materials.
  • Six shape patterns (circle, square, heart, triangle, star, and plus/cross)
  • The patterns are for traditional-size (19-peg) potholder loom (if using an 18-peg loom, double up on one peg or omit one loop in each direction)

Supplies Needed

  • Potholder Loom set
  • Potholder Loops (1 potholder = 1 page)
  • Hanging ring (optional)

This is a digital product. After your purchase your download pattern will be available from your confirmation email and from your customer account page.
